Mode of Action
"Infective microorganisms" are defined as those organisms which are not directly involved in the icrobiological production of a dairy product or which do not belong to its specific flora. This culture medium does not contain any fermentable carbohydrates and has relatively little nutrient value so that these microorganisms can be cultivated selectively.
Typical Composition (g/litre)
Peptone from gelatin 7.5; peptone from casein 7.5; sodium chloride 5.0; agar-agar 15.0.
Preparation
Suspend 35 g/litre, autoclave (15 min at 121 °C).
pH: 7.5 ± 0.2 at 25 °C.
The plates are clear and yellowish.
